I have heard about reloaders who use pet litter for case cleaning so today, i bought a bag of this stuff.

I've been using corncob media for as long as i can remember and never had to replace it due to buying a large amount about 25 years ago. Today really opened my eyes to the benefit of fine walnut midia. I never saw anything from Lyman this fine and really had my doubts but all i can say is WOW! The brass looks new and is smooth as glass. You all have to try this stuff if you haven't.

I use this exclusively. I've been thinking about trying corn cob. The walnut reptile bedding cleans really well. But getting it out of a case like .223 and out of the primer pocket is a pain. (for me anyway)

Been using the stuff for several years now. Excellent stuff for the price. Beats Midway and Midsouth for price per pound and it works great.

For small primer pocket cases I just tumble with the fired primer still in the case. I deprime as part of my resizing so I just use an RCBS Primer cleaner brush to clean out the primer cavity afterwards before I reprime the case.

I use the walnut bedding as my first choice now.

But some Nu-finish auto polish in with your walnut grind - even prettier

Fosters and Smith, a mail order pet store, is located about 45 minutes north of me and I picked up a lifetime supply of broken bags of walnut media for pennies on the dollar. I have so much reptile litter that I might have to buy a snake to use it all up...

I use the same stuff some i get the grit is different sizes from bag to bag. The last i got is so fine sticking in primer pockets is not a problem.

I got a bag of that stuff, works great, but is very dusty. So I cover the top of my
viberator to keep the dust in, and use a little braso.

1shirt, make sure the ammonia evaporates out of the Brasso before you add the brass. Just a tip.

I've never done it but some claim a teaspoon of mineral spirts cutts down the dust. Might try it.

Take a used dryer sheet, tear it up into about 8 pieces and throw it into the mix. After each use, replace the dryer sheets. You'll see how much walnut dust and black soot they catch when you take them out. A paper towel works also, but just not as well.

I bought a 50 pound bag of this stuff from the local grain elevator about 15 years ago and have given a bunch away too. Still have at least a third of a bag. If memory serves me correctly. I paid about $12 for the 50# bag. It comes in many different granulations too.
