I have started to collect ww to feed a 44 mag Marlin. Did reloading 30 yrs ago but no casting, stuff was cheap. Got out of shooting for a long time sold all but an Anschutz sporter 22. Rekindled the love of gopher shooting on the prairies last year and am going back into it full bore. Bought a 44 mag Marlin for a camp gun for up north when in camp, bears there. I figured the 44 would be good fun for gophers also as a back-up for the 22, hard charging little critters. Shoot them and bury at the same time. Spent a few days collecting, paid $20 ea for two buckets, a box of donuts for three buckets and a box of donuts for a truck tire shop small drum full of scrap. Said scrap was 106 lbs of brass valve stems, 90 lbs ww including a 17 oz monster and 30 lbs assorted nuts bolts and ****. Spent $52 sold brass for $106, pays for more stuff like new casings at $39 a hundred. Built a melting heater, works great. Thanks for listening Fred

The only thing better than that would have been if it had been cleaned and sorted for you. Good score and welcome aboard.

Sounds as if your off to a good start metalbender !!!!

WELCOME ABOARD !!!!!!!!

Don`t know how far north they are but down here we have to watch for ZINC wheel weights !!

ZINC does not make boolits & it causes castability problems like ya would`nt believe !!!!

Smelt slow & keep an eye on the melt , stir as soon as ya can & the ZINC will float !!!

HAVE FUN ,BE SAFE !!!
