Im a longtime fan and and newest member. I bought a hundred rounds of Hornady 45LC brass at a gun show and found out its .055 (1.225) shorter than my old CBC brass (1.280) anyone else ran into this? I suppose this would be ok for target loads but I wanted it specificaly for my hunting loads.

WOW, That is surprising.
As cbc brass has a reputation of being shorter in the 357 & 44 case IFIRC.:Fire::Fire:

Probely the short brass for the Flex tip ammo

To make the proper OAL
Hornady decided to shorten the brass

Yep, all their brass for calibers that also happen to be loaded at the factory with flex-tips as "Leverevolution" ammo is short. I have some 444 Marlin the same way.

I like it, because i can load longer-nosed cast bullets to the same OAL, so it works for me, but it's something to be aware of.

Generally, I find Hornady brass to be high-quality, but I don't get it much, because it's also more expensive and I'm cheap!

I have noticed that as well on a lot of their brass, 44mag, 45 colt, 45-70. I just set it aside and save it for longer bullets.

Same here, I bought some 45-70 brass a while back and it's so short I can't even put a crimp in it. I thought I had gotten some factory seconds.
