I like the size but I have concerns about accuracy. Anybody use this mold, and have you found the boolit to be accurate?

IMHO - This boolit was designed for CAS (quick shooting, close range, low recoil). I have not found this or its clones to be particularly accurate. You however did not define your expectations of accuracy.

It needs to be quite accurate–capable of 2 or 3" groups at 50' from a bench, from a tuned 1911.

Don't know that it will do that. Only one way to know for sure, isn't there?

I didnt have much luck with it, I could get minute of paper plate at 10 yards but not much better off hand. My biggest complaint is that they are a pain to get out of my 450! There just isnt much to grab hold of.

It should be able to do 3" at 50 feet, but not by much.

Alright, thanks. May give it a shot.

If you get a chance, try the RCBS 45-185. I think they still make it. It shoots a lot better than the 160 and I don't have the same feeding problems even with a reduced recoil spring. I have only tried a few loads with both bullets. With the 160gr: 3.8gr bullseye and 3.6gr clays... actually i just checked i used the same loads for both bullets. IIRC I used a 10lb recoil spring while shooting those (I did not take that note down).

They give me 3" @ 50 feet offhand. I just find them to be a little hard to handle with my fat little fingers. Getting them straight on top of the brass before seating is a little tough for me. They fly fine though.

Thanks for all the tips.
