Have early Browning Hi-Wall .223. I have two more 30WCF and 32-40. (late Win's)
I was thinking about re-bore to another classic hole. I have become consumed with this Boolit thing. I am breech seating 32-40 and fixed on 30. Schuetzen rules
which nobody seems to have the book says .25 min. 1/4 bore I have been told by our local Schuetzen Meister. Midway is showing brass in stock. Any words of wisdom from those who are doing it, been there, done that? Twist, bullet wt., lube, who has the hot PB mold, etc.
Thanks in advance, Gtek

The 25-35 has a ridiculously quick twist, so if you want to shoot cast, do a 1-12". It should be good to at least 100gr spitzer. For schuetzen I would do a smaller case, but since you apparently want to rebore the 223, you may have a better case. You could rebarrel or reline and use a smaller capacity case like the 25-20SS or 25-21 Stevens. I have a 25-20 Win barrel, but haven't really shot it much.

If your set on 25 cal, then look at the 25 Copperhead. For schuetzen it will do all you need done.

Just a thought.

The 257 TCU is a .223 blown out similar to an Ackley Improved cartridge. The 25 Copperhead appears to be simply a .222 necked up to 25 caliber.

Another thought, since you already have a 223 chamber.

+1.....what excess650 said.

25-20 single shot & 25-20 wcf are more "classic" than wildcats mentioned above.

I built my little 25/35 Win on a small frame Martini Cadet. 22" barrel 1:10 twist. Shoots 100gn RCBS boolits into 3MOA at 100yds but most of my shots on wild dogs are inside that range.

BAW,
I hope you gave the stockmaker a good beating. The cheekpiece is on the wrong side!
