Greetings
Anyone know if the forearm for the Winchester 1892 will fit on a 1873 ?
I am hunting a Octagon 1873 forearm and someone suggested they may interchange.. but I sure do not know.
The new formed forearms are listed with different stock #s so I figured they were different. Any experience in this ?

Sir, As we say in the Ozarks, "It ain't gonna happen." The two forearms are mounted completely differently and the barrel/magizine tube clearance is different so it won't work with stock parts. You might check them closer to see how much alteration it could take, ie open one up and fit with Accra Glass. I'm thinking that the best move would be to find the one you need and go with the proper replacement part. You should be able to get either one from VTI Gunparts.com or GunParts Corp.
Might be a little tricky from Peru, however.
God Bless and shoot safe.

Thanks Gripmaker
A feller stated he thought it would work. But I could not understand how all these years fabricators had continue to list the two models as different. Have had the two models for years and never tried to cross fit one to the other..
