Is the Saeco 301 supposed to be a bore-rider design?

I received some from a member as a sample, and they are definitely NOT bore riders in my M70 Classic FWT ss/walnut .30-06. Very loose fit at the muzzle, but then again, neither are the 311299s he sent as a sample, while I have other 311299s that ARE bore riders from a different mold. Just goes to show that not all molds or rifles are the same. A big thanks to that member, BTW, he sent me a very nice sample pack of heavy .30 caliber boolits AND his Lee 200 gr. mold for me to try out before I spring for a new mold for my .30-06 and .308.

..............The boolit is a bore rider DESIGN. Whether or not it actually 'rides' or engraves the lands doesn't doesn't change what it is.

The 6.5mm Cruise Missile with about textbook engraving. And Selmerfan hit the main problem with bore riders. And that is, not riding/touching/engraving. Whatever term ya like. If the nose is just flappin' in the breeze chances are it's not going to shoot very well without that guidance.

Good point Buckshot, semantics are everything! :) So yes, it is a bore rider design, but that particular mold is NOT a bore rider in my gun. The 311299 boolits that I have that DO ride the bore shoot very well indeed, which I probably why I will be getting in on the small group buy on the 311299 from NOE this spring and HP that bugger for deer hunting. :)
