Lube-O-Matic & Lyman 4500...

Will the standard H&I sizing dies and top punches fit both the Lyman and RCBS lube presses?...

I have an RCBS Lube-O-Matic that I have used for quite a few years and a friend is getting the Lyman 4500. Will my sizing dies and top punches work in his Lyman 4500?...

This was a topic we hashed through not long ago. Had mixed results.

Risking life and limb from those who may have disagreed with me last time, I will say...Lyman and RCBS dies USED to be interchangable. In recent years, it is possible that RCBS changed thier dies just enough so they were difficult, if not impossibe to use in the Lymans. I purchased a Lyman 4500, and was unable to properly fit an RCBS .356 die into it. I had to grind the O.D of the die just a little to get it to fit. I do believe that the new equipment Lyman dies will work with the LAM machine, but new RCBS dies are/can be problematic going into Lyman presses. -- This is what the reps at Lyman told me.

The old RCBS dies should work OK in the Lyman presses.
