Greg, I hate to see a good man pick up another addiction like that. You better just send it to me and I'll save you from it. I'll even get you your $373 back. Addictions can be very nasty you know. :kidding:

Seriously though, congrats on the find. I have been looking for one for a little while now but haven't been able to afford what they have been asking.

Gloat on!

Greg, Took mine out yesterday along with my 686 shooting Mihec 125 grn bullet. I was having so much fun that I used up all the .357 loads in my rifle. I promised the 686 that I would use it next time.

Must be an affliction going around for lever action 357's. I just picked one up too, but would have preferred your price. They are fun.

I have been working with mine but need to find a load it likes. The Lee 158 swc over 3.5 gr of HP38 in a special case sure isn't it. 10 inch groups at 50 yards is not my idea of a good load.
Getting ready to try some 158 rnfp Lee bullets. Maybe use 3.5 to 4 gr of HP38 and see what I get. Can't get worse.

And you got a GREAT price.

I have been hearing the Lee 158 gr. rnfp over 5.5 gr. Unique. Tried a dummy round and it cycled real smooth. Now to reload some and shoot for groups. greg

You did real good on that find. Hope I have your luck one of these days. But I do love my little Rossi M92 357.

New guy here, had my Marlin .357 for a few years now. I've had good results with Lyman 158 gr. w/gc swc (#358156), 14 grs of 2400. I also shoot Nosler 180 gr jsp (silhouette) with 8.8 grs Blue Dot. I run both of these though my ruger SA.

I've had good luck with the Lee 158 RNFP out of both my Winchester, and Marlin .357 carbines. They both like small charges of Unique behind that boolit, but other combinations have worked well too. For serious work I have had very good luck with the Lyman 357156 gas checked boolit over maximum loads of H-110. I haven't had my Marlin all that long, and am looking forward to many hours of working up other loads for it, and just plain shooting it. They are fun guns to have for sure.

Try that boolit with 5 grs of HP38 or Win 231 in Magnum cases. That's what mine likes best. :cbpour:

A friend bought one when they first came out several years back.
We went out and put 50 .38 SWC's through it.
He cleaned it carefully and put it back in the safe, until I bought it about 12 years ago ($180) when he moved to the west coast.
I've seen it couple of times a year when I clean and oil all the hardware....one of these days I'll shoot it again...
