Guy's just pu a rcbs 148gr wc mold. I Will be paper punching with my 686 6'' .

Was wondering what configuration of alloy most of you guys use , . I have a ton of 38 brass sitting around

and the kids like shooting this gun. THANKS :coffeecom

"configuration of lead" - I presume alloy. Just regular old air cooled wheel weight alloy
will be just fine, casts nicely and is pretty easily available.

When I shot in competition, I used wheel weights for practice and had a seperate alloy for competition. Until the day I had no option but to use the WW alloy for a match. I posted a comparable score to what my special alloy boolits posted so I continued to use WWs for practice and competition. My load was 2.7 grains of Bullseye.

For hunting with the wadcutter bullet, I use a much harder and repeatable alloy and load to about 900 fps. Amazing what a hard cast flatpoint will accomplish.
