I have rechambered a Vanguard rifle and 15" Encore pistol in this caliber, both were .223 originally.

I'm trying to get set up to shoot cast in the pistol.

For those not familiar with the cartridge, it is a small belted round a little bit smaller than a .22-250. Many times I have seen statements that it is the "ballistic twin" to the .225 Winchester.

Years ago I built a 220 Weatherby Rocket which was one of the first cartridges he developed and the only one that never had factory ammo. It was so overbore that I never considered trying cast in it. I have shot cast boolits out of my 219 Wasp Contender Carbine which has slightly less capacity and am only getting .9" to 1.1" groups at 100 yds with a 225415 and 9.4 gr 2400. Not good enough for Bullshops match yet.

Lyman lists loads for the 224WM:
6.0 - 7.0 Unique with 225415
11.0 - 13.0 2400

6.0 - 8.0 Unique with 225462
13.0 - 15.0 IMR 4227

Max loads running around 2300.
