I saw this topic and had to say this. Sunday I spent four hours trying to lap out the nose of an Ohaus 45-450 mold. Four hours, with valve grinding compound. At the end, I managed to make the bullets about half a thousandth bigger.
This is how lapping works for me.
When I get a mold where the bullet doesn't want to come out, a little bit of lapping always fixes the problem-so far. But making bullets bigger in iron molds? Tough for me.
