Hello ,
I Bought some lead alloy from a scrap yard. It melts at about 500 ish the first time. I let it cool and re melt and there is chunks of hard very shiny stuff floating in it that melt at about 650ish. and bullets are a pink purple tint at BHN 22 or so. skimmed off the chunks and very shiny curtled milk looking top off the pot. let cool and repeated . they gained 2 grains in wt and are still BHN 22 but silver( no tint). They cast and shoot good.

This stuff that I am skimming , I cant help but wonder if it would be good to add to ww to harden it up a bit??
The alloy was cast in RCBS ingot molds when I bought it.
Any thoughts?? Thanks ....Buck

I'm gonna guess that stuff is TIN, linotype acts about like that when I melt it.
