I just picked up a 1lbs of herco. got it at a dang good price. My problem out of the reloadbooks I do have I can't find any info for a recipe. I am shooting a 162 grain wc and soon will have a mold from mihec and it will be on the heavy side. I know allaint recomends standard primers. wondring if any one can give me the minuim and the max load for a reference. I am not interested in max loads usually the mid range get me the groups I want. I do have some 357 cases with the mag primers so need to know if I stay at the begining end if I'll be okay with those if not I can use y trail boss. Also the pistol I am shooting is the ruger sp101.

Thanks for any info.

6.2 - 9.0 in a mag case. Used it for awhile behind a 358429 in my mdl 66.

I use Hurco quite a lot for heavyer loads in several handgun calibers. In 357 Mag I have found it to be slightly slower burning than Unique so Unique loads can be used as a starting point for Hurco and loads worked up from there. I have also found that it is a little cleaner burning than Unique.

Speer #9 (1974) lists 8.5-9.0 Herco for 375 160 JSp if that helps at all.

You'll be safe using Unique data for Herco.

Lyman 45th lists 7.0-10.0 Herco under the 168gr 358429 for 1073-1324fps from a 5" 357mag.

In the 38 Special they list 3.0-5.0 Unique for 585-913fps with the same 168gr 358429.

This is 1970 data, so Hercules vs Alliant.

Your mag primers will be fine with less than max loads.
