Can anyone tell me if I reheat some heat treated boolits to say 130-150 deg F to apply "Recluse" lube (45-45-10) if it will affect the original HT in any way?? Thanks Nick

No problem, Nick. It takes at least 250F to begin any anneal for anything metallic. ... felix

Good question. I was wonder the same thing today.
So if I have some heat treated bullets, and I want to make them soft again, I just heat them up to around 250 for a time then let them slow cool. Right? Or would the magic number be a little higher?

I would heat them at 350-400 degrees for an hour and let them air cool which would return them to the hardness they would have been if air cooled from the mold. Least ways that's how I've done it with success.

I've never heard of heating boolits to apply lube. I need to do some reading.
Informative post. Thanks felix.
