I've been fumbling along for over 50 years under the impression that Ideal had something to do with John Barlow...........

Ya learn something new every day!

Wonder why he says "Ideal Toy Company"? Does not say it on the measure.

I have no idea how John Barlow (barlow knife??) comes in anywhere in this.

Barlow(e) started building reloading tools back in the late 1800's and called them "Ideal". The Lymans purchased the business from either Barlow or his heirs prior to the twenties I believe.

I just got a kick out of how some of these sellers try to pump information when they really have no idea...............

Looks like he went in and edited the listing, too a bunch mount. This must be a realy rare variation?
The last one made with the Middlefield address was in 1946, just before the switch to the #5.

He shoulda just put "don't know much about it, sold as is".

That's how fairy tales and old wives tales start.
