Is there such a thing?

How about "upsizing" an Ideal/Lyman 386178 (0.386"OD, 200gr RNL, hollow-base for the 41LC) How hard would that be?

Have you any idea what a 386178 sells for on eBone? If not, and you have one, send it my way! I have a .41LC!

No idea. Never heard of/seen such a thing until I started digging around looking for a superior .410 slug.

Ironsights:

Lyman actually made at one time (cataloged 1963 - 74) a .410 Foster slug mould, but I've never run across one. Like the 12-16-20 ga. ones, it would be a deep hollow base, without the outside spiral grooves. (They made a push-through die to cut these, but experiments show that the Foster slugs shoot just as well - or badly!- without the grooves.)

Yeah, according to Federal, their testing shows no twist in the slug due to the groves... but people expect them to be there.

Lee makes a 12ga foster slug mold with a "key" that is somehow supposed to impart / aid twist.

...............The grooves are only on shotgun slugs to ease it through the choke. They collapse easier then a solid.
