Steve in kc hould we bring our presses ???

Man I wish. I used to do competitive bbq competitions and have placed as well as 13th in pork at the American Royal (what can I say, I'm a KC boy and it's in my 'back yard'!) If I had land, hell yeah! I'd fire up the pit and have a load 'em up, eat 'em up, shoot 'em up gathering.

No land though so hence...no party :(

I'm sure there's got to be somebody somewhere around the KC area that has land that would welcome a crew from this board over for a cook out and 'match' of some kind!

At 40* last Tuesday I annealed about 3 gal of .40 brass.
At 45* Friday I citric acid washed and polished the brass.
At 50* Yesterday I cast a huge pile of Boolits (cores).
At 38* and windy today I looked out the window, and rubbed my sore hands and wrists.
It's supposed to SNOW again tonight.
WM is calling for 65* on Monday, and I will be swaging outside in the sunshine, with shorts and a t shirt. If it would only last.

Mother-fluxer batman! My wife told me today that she and the boys are going on their annual winter pilgrammage to the indoor water park/hotel on Sunday at noon and will be home Monday late. We're down to 1 car at the moment and two round trips for me to go with them with gas at $3/gal isn't good fiscal responsibility.

Oh darn! I'll just have to fire up the pot and cast cast cast cast cast!! Woooohooooo!!!!

I'll have a mountain of the following when i'm done:

452-200-RNFP
457-405-RNFP
And

Nice pic, 4½ bikini girls is about my limit...

(They should be mining that berm for lead nuggets.)

I would finish my stand and do some casting but work gets in the way of a good time,
fixing to head out. The good news is my feet won't be freezing today.

I have been so bored during the long cold spell that I have loaded all the bullets that I had cast up. Crazy Missouri weather was below zero just a few days back. Now it's nice and warm the last few days at around 60 at least. I am out of bullets and need to cast, but took out the 4-wheeler instead. Needed to get away from the house for a while. But, the next time the temperature is favorable and I can schedule it in, there will be a whole day devoted to making a big enough pile of boolits to do me for a while. Almost out of brass too. Darn, guess I will have to empty a few, weather permitting.

I'm going to go to the local "pull-a-part" and start my typical search for large WW's
Its a lot of work but I love it. By the time I'm whipped from going up and down prying the 1.5" ones and longer Ive got two large winter jacket pockets bulging.
I go into where you pay for your parts and pull out a few and say "do you want me to unload them? they say " oh no, please dont" and charge me 1 to 3 bucks and i'm on my way with all big WW's and 0 zinc. It works out to about 15 cents a pound, give or take.

I managed to scrounge 23 lbs. and ended up paying about 19 or 20 cents a pound.

It is fun at these places. the cars are all lined up and blocked up on these jack stands made of rims, one lays flat and the other is welded [tacked] upright.
these have loads of WW's as well as the car/truck they're supporting.
I just keep looking and poping them off. when I a bit fatigued, I simply slide open a mini van's side door and rest my bones [my fat bones]

I used to spend time in the junk yard around here when I was a kid. Good memories. I found some of the largest spiders known to live in this area.

I doubt it's even legal anymore to get back into the junk yards in this nanny state....the Feminist Utopia of Washington (FUWA)...apologies to any boolit casting babes who may be offended...

Its was just too nice to not go to the pull apart junk yard again.

I found a few 6 oz WW's, they must have been 7" long.
also found a few huge truck WW's, not really long but thick, and have bigger clips

I came out of there with 21 lbs-11 oz. after smelting. cost; 3 dollars, 1 buck to roam the yard and 2 bucks for the future boolits.
