I got my .010" copper foil from Storm Copper, the same place Pat Marlins gets his. Here's the link: http://store.electrical-insulators-and-copper-ground-bars.com/copper-foil.html

They don't have .014" listed, though.

I spent a couple of hours checking all the places that sell copper foil, and figured the prices per square inch, including shipping. Storm was the cheapest, since they include shipping and the others all charged quite a bit for shipping.

Hope this helps.

Basic Copper was one of the places I was checking when I was buying. I almost hit the "buy" button, until I calculated the shipping. The price per square inch of material delivered was cheaper from Storm Copper.

Hope this helps.

Beanflip,
that's me.
I bought the .016 copper at a Menards super store.
This was the only copper they had.
I would have prefered .014
and I also am still looking for .010
it's gotta be somewhere cheaper that the internet vendors.
I am hoping to find a contractor that installs copper roofs and such
to buy his scrap...still looking.

Brass sheet/foil is a excellent and cheaper alternative . Mine cut and form the same as copper or aluminum.

Fred, That is very true if you go to the website. When you go to the Ebay listings, a .010 X 6" X 10' roll is 55.99 + 9.15 shipping. (65.14) Their website lists this same item at 64.99 + shipping.
Storm Copper's is 69.14 shipped

Needless to say, I bought the Ebay listing.

Over here in New Zealand if you can find an old hot water cylinder(they were made from copper)you can use a free chex and punch out .015 gas checks.I found if I annealed the copper it would tear so all I do now is lube with some Winns oil treatment and presto good checks. They are ideal for 30 cal and 8mm cal but will be too thick for 22 or 6.5.There sure is a lot of copper in a cylinder that holds 30 odd gallons.

I got mine from a place called Industrial Metal Supply. They have branches in California & AZ. I think that mine was .016" thick. They may have called it 12 pound sheet or something like that. Don't quote me on that last part. It was a little while ago. The price of copper has been going up quite a bit lately.
