Is it effective to tumble lube conventionally grooved boolits? I'm trying to decide if I can get away with this or if I must pan lube as I don't have a lube press...all my moulds have conventional lube grooves. This question is for boolits that will be used in revolvers and rifles. I'm guessing this is more of an issue for rifles with their higher velocities and longer barrels?

Absolutely effective. I have several boolits with traditional lube-grooves that I tumble-lube; in fact, the tumble-lubing of them gives me BETTER results than I get with my lubesizer.

Agreed. Conventional designs respond just fine to film lubes.

Been there, done that. Works good. Don't have to have the grooves filled for an accurate boolit.

what effect would it have if you did fill the grooves with something like CR, BAC or Speedgreen?

Waste of lube?

Well then you'd be pan lubing and losing the benefit of tumble lube (speed).

SkookumJeff,
My preferred load for my .45acp target loads is a Recluse's 45/45/10 method tumble lubed Lyman 452460 and a charge of Bullseye
