has anyone tried the 327 federal in a ruger blackhawk or gp100? how well do they shoot with 32 longs and 32 h&rs i have not seen a place to buy 327 federal brass it would cost to much to start with factory ammo to get 500 to 1000 rounds

I've not used it in a Ruger, but my 4" CA Target Patriot is looking very good using Lyman 311316 cast of WW sized and checked 115/116 grains over A#9. I've been at it for almost 20 months and I like it. The American Eagle ammunition is not prohibitively priced, thats what I built up my stock with. The cases seem to be very durable, I haven't had one crack yet. I've loaded and fired 32 Magnum from my 327 but not the Long. I have other revolvers for the S&W cartridges. Get a copy of Handloader Magazine on the stands now for a very good article on the 327 in a Ruger.

I have the CA Patriot 327 Fed Mag revolver. I cannot find anyone including Starline that has brass for sale. Nobody....I was forced to get some 32 H&R Mag brass from Midway and I will use these for my target practice.

Loaded with factory ammo this gun does bark some and you will feel it. I would not want to run a box of 50 rounds through this gun unless I wore a shooting glove as after about 15 shots my hand gets kinda numb.

It is accurate, it is small, it is light and I expect that it will do the job if I can put the round where it is needed most.

I am looking forwards to having some plinking ammo for just clod busting and such targets of opportunity in the near future.

I do like the weapon. So much that I bought it's big brother in .44 Special for my CCW.

Find no need for 327 Fed brass if you hand load 32 mag. With the right powder /bullet combo you can achieve 327 fed velocity in 32 mag cases.( both equally strong) http://www.reloadammo.com/32hr-mag.htm I have 30 Gold Dot HPs just for self defence / game.Probably never use them

Shooter6br: what bullet are you using to get the 327 velocities from a 32 Mag?
I'm casting 311316 and sizing .313 for my 327 and it is very good, but I can't run that bullet that fast in 32 Mag cases, not enough boiler room!!!!!!!!!
I want to stay with heavier bullets.
