Spigot or Valve for Large Pot

A friend of mine is making a large pot for casting 60 and 70 pound commercial fishing cannonballs. Can anyone recommend a spigot or valve system that could be located near the bottom of the pot, that would work. Pot is being made out of 12" diameter piece of 1/2" pipe. I told him I would post this question for him. Thanks

The 500 lb pot I made just used a larger version of the valve set up on the RCBS Pro Melt.

500 lb pot sounds interesting, what did you make it out of and what are the dimensions.
