Thank you Tpr. Bret, and I hope yours was as good as mine!

I find it interesting, as recently mentioned on the 'net somewhere, that our Birthday and Veteran's Day are so close in time to National Election day.

Maybe a few folks will make the connection. That without the sacrifice of so many veterans, over so many years, free elections might not be happening in our USA!

So tonight, just as I did those 4 other Birthdays when I was in uniform, and the years in between, I hoist a cold one as a salute to those of our brothers who are no longer with us, from Tun's Tavern to Al Anbar Provence! And certainly no less to those serving today in all the far flung parts of the world in need of a steadying influence - Here's to YOU Marines!:drinks:

Just to make sure you all know, I'm absolutely NOT trying to denigrate the service of ANY of the other branches of the military, but you must know, we Marines know we really ARE special![smilie=1:

I raised a non-alcoholic salute to my fellow brethren in the Corps (I'm watching the kids this weekend so no drinking on my part in case of an accident or something.) tonight and remembered the six good years I had in the Corps before I left to join the Army as an officer. Those six years as a Rifleman and a NCO have served me well in my career for humility and professionalism is the hallmark of a Marine.

My daughters also although only in 1984. She has shot a fewcast bullets but thinks it all is a bit too silly to be bothered with. Gianni

Happy Birthday to my fellow brothers.

May we all live to see many more!

Semper Fi!

Not so lean, not so mean, but still a Marine - 70-96!

Happy Birthday Marines, and thanks for your service. Tomorrow we can thank all branches. Today, a 22 year old who knows I am a Navy man from fifty years ago, asked me if Sailors and Marines drank in the same bars. I told him that no Sailor was crazy enough to enter a Marine bar.
