I found some instructions for one of my pacific presses. They say to turn the handle to the upstroke position. Is there a reason why? I don't know if this gives my press more leverage?

Try it and see, does it have the same stroke length that way?

Seems easier on the user to just push down, IE put your weight on it.

Yes it seems to have the same stroke. I flipped it around but I cant really tell a difference. I only tried it for a couple of bullets. Does any one remember these presses when they came out new? I still need a Rf jacket die, so I am limited on how many I can try right now. The gentleman I bought the dies from was supposed to send me one but I guess he forgot.he sent me a few jackets and cores that I have been playing with though. But until I track one down I thought I would just read up.

I think they are designed for use in up stroke it is supposed to be easier to use. Mine was set up to load 30-30 later I got ram and dies to make 22 bullets from club member. Dies to swage .357 and .452 bullets would not fit in press so I modified a Lyman Orange Crusher for them I am sure it has more leverage.
