Has anyone worked up a load for the 7.62 x 54r with cast boolits and Clays? I was just given a pound of Clays and thought it might work in the MN 91/30. I want to get one of the NOE 316299 molds but they are not making that one now so I'm using a Lee that is a bit shy in diameter. Thanks in advance.

Isn't Clays similar in burn rate to Red Dot? If so then Ed Harris's "The Load" of 13gr of Red Dot (Clays) might work.

+1 on Jeff's comment! In the Lee Manual burn chart Red Dot is #6 and Clays is #7 so they are VERY close in burn rate.

Thanks for the replys . I will try some light loads in the Reddot range and see what I can work up. Won't be for a while tho as I am waiting for the snow to go a mold in the correct size for my .314 bore to appear.
