A friend of mine's son finagled away a "big bucket" (larger than 5 gallons assumably) from the firestone he worked at BEFORE they were contracted to recycle all of their weights. He wanted it to sell the steel scrap for cash. I asked if I could get the lead ones out and he said sure but he wants the steel back. :)

I let him know that I would melt down the bucket and give him every single piece of steel back out of the bucket. All for nothing, but, I'm going to cast up and load a few boxes of 30-30 for him to shoot as a 'thank you'. :)

Just curious what they are getting for steel scrap now at the local junkyards around parts of the country.

9.5 to10 cents a# around here.
