This gun was used by some mil and law enforcement agencies. My chamber is badly eroded and I'm considering rechambering, either with a sleeve, or by reaming out to a larger size.

Any ideas on either?

Unless I do something, it's just a wall hanger. I'd really like to shoot the gun, since I got it from my uncle.

The French used these in WW1.

Not sure but I seem to remember barrels for these being available several years ago, perhaps at Numrich.

Sleeving the chamber might work, this is not a very high pressure cartridge.

Castro's guerrillas sometimes used these rifles converted to fire the 9X19 mm and fed by a artillery luger magazine.

I looked just now at Numrich, and they are out of barrels....

From what I have read in the old American Rifleman magazines these guns would not function
well if the factory specs were not followed closely for the factory cartridge so don't know what would happen if you would rechamber it for a larger case.

Seem to remember there is a shop that specializes in these, might do a search on the internet.

Found a 1907 barrel in an online auction. No one has bid on it yet and theres only one day left for this item. Might be worth a look.

Either rebarrel or sleeve the chamber. I wouldn't try changing calibers.
