i bought a 429421 lyman last week. it only cast @ .427! four casting sessions and plenty of lapping compound i got it to .431. thank you all for all the wonderful information in here. i have been casting for 3 years for my 45 colts and 45 auto. this is the first real issue i have come across. i have been lurking for a couple weeks here and have learned more in a couple weeks than 3 years of traditional reading and experimentation. thank you thank you thank you

I started in `83 & basically accepted whatever fell from the mold until a few yrs. back !!

Now I get alot better results from my efforts & enjoy this aspect of my addiction !!!

Did you tell Lyman about their undersized mould?

i tried 5 grains of bullseye and winchester primers. i was able to do 1.5 inch group off hand at 25 yds with my 4 5/8 SBH. ran three cylinders and all three were less than 2 inches. yeaaaaaa a think i found a winner with my 44 to plink.......:drinks:
