does anybody knows if i can use blue dot on a 8mm mauser with casts?

13.0 grs is the classic Red Dot load.

Blue Dot, being much slower, might be ok at 13.0 grs, but would work better in the 15.0-20.0 gr range.

Can you use it? Sure can, in my opinion it's one of the best. Burns clean once the pressure gets to be a bit over 30,000psi and consistently gives me single digit standard deviations within that range. In the Krag I generally operate in the range that Andy has mentioned, magnum primers have shrunk groups a bit for me too.

I use it with the Lyman 160gr Loverin bullet with 13 grs, WLR primer. typically 2" groups at 100 yards with military sights. This is in a like new Yugo Mauser 48a with tight dimensions.

Pressure can climb pretty fast with Blue Dot so it pays to work up. I ran out of Blue Dot about 4 years ago and the newer container is faster and a little dirtier than my BD from 15 years ago.

i'm using lee 175gr gc and the powder that i have got to be at least 15 years old,so i think i should be fine then.
