I was paging through the Feb issue of this magazine and spotted an article on the BFR in .500 JRH. It was a good write-up but the pic of the author had me wondering.....Where have I seen that guy before??? Good job Whitworth!

Yeah and I have to wait to read it. I changed to American Hunter but keep getting Rifleman.
If I would have known my daughter was coming over, I would have had her bring her copy.

Great picture, Whitworth. Now I can work on my hold. Since we know who contributed to the article, it is worth reading, if you can ignore the comments by the author (Max P) about the BFR's 'comic-book proportions' and the 'plow handle' or it not being a pretty revolver.

What in the hell are you talking about? Who is it that contributed to the article? I used all factory loads in testing. The comic book proportions comment was made in reference to the original .45/70 BFR. Never been a fan of the plow handle and I make no bones about it. The comment about it not being the prettiest revolver is just a reality.

Who pee'd in your Cherios this morning, Frank?

Nobody. There was nothing wrong with the articles. I just didn't think the wording on the BFR one was favorable to the company. What does it mean, 'the ubiquitous 45/70 cartridge'? Does that mean it's good or bad?

AH, I see what is going on, Frank did not know it was you who wrote the article.
And yes, some love the Bisley and others hate it, I am one that hates it but Whitworth loves them---ALL PERSONAL.
But I take issue on PRETTY, all the guns lack is spit and polish and that does not kill in the field. I refuse to pay for spit and polish because I USE my guns, not sit and stare at them. Yet in reality, the BFR's are awful darn pretty!
Hey, how did I get involved in this PRETTY thing anyway! :coffee: What it does on targets and game is what counts and an old blue Ruger with half the blue worn off is just beautiful if it hits. Therein lies the treasure!
If I take a gun out of the safe for someone to look at, it is FILTHY, full of powder residue, because it is a work of art and I refuse to sit and rub on it.
Well, I had my fun and for the bad news, my daughter also gets the rifleman. DAAAARN!

Hey Frank, I don't know what "ubiquitous" means either! :brokenima It must mean old and decrepit like me!
NOPE, NOPE, I looked it up. It means existing, or omnipresent, just like me! :bigsmyl2:

Frank, thanks for the link to the article.
I feel it was well done for a review.
Now to get Whitworth and American Hunter to do a 3 or more page full workup with hand loads and factory loads along with groups, loads, many pictures, etc. Then results on game would add a lot.
What do you think Whitworth, will they let you get technical!

Actually, Frank, maybe you should go back and reread the article as it was very favorable to the BFR. That said, I won't say that I love the plow handle grip when I don't. Just being honest.

What does ubiquitous mean? Are you really asking that?

You see, 44man took it personal.

I get it, the word 'ubiquitous', now. [smilie=l:
