Got two new one-cavity molds for my 45-70, the ones that cast 292 and 405 gr bullets.

Both needed cleaning up before they would drop bullets without hanging up.

I took a few burrs off with an Xaco knife then cast 5 bullets each with the spur plate open and a 3/4" nut over the hole.

When cool I coated each of them with some GoJo and put them back in the mold and turned them first by wrench then by hand. Took about 1-2 minutes for each.

Now the bullets drop out with only a light tap if any is needed at all.

They sure go through lead fast...

Regular GoJo or the stuff with pumace?

the one with pumace. Acts like a very fine polishing agent.
Broke down and ordered some clover grinding/lapping compound--only comes in 1 lb cans. Figure I'll have enough for 3 or 4 lifetimes. Might try to open up some of those Lee molds in 45-70 that cast .457--a bit small for my rifle.

No Walt, you probably have enough for 10 lifetimes.
