280 ai

a 160 gr g/c boolit from Mountain man Dan
my question is this
would you use 280 rem or 7mm rem mag loading data for that particular cartridge ???
Should I use jackets 280 ai load data ?

Well, I haven't tried cast in mine. BUT, I would use regular 280 data and be comfortable with working up a little.

Definitely do not use 7mm Mag data! Lots of people think these cartridges are equal but the 280AI is definitely smaller in case capacity than the 7mm Rem Mag.
Check the Hodgdon website for 280AI jacketed bullet data.
280AI 150gr bullet IMR7828SSC is 8.7 grs less powder than for the same weight bullet in the 7mm Rem Mag.

Jacketed data probably will not work well with cast as the velocity is pretty high. I don't have any cast data for that round but maybe someone else will chime in here that does.
