Rossi has introduced a new single shot rifle that looks like it may have all kinds of potential. The Rossi Wizard, it's similar to the Handi Rifles but it has interchangable barrels like the Thompson Encore. I have just ordered one in .308 with a price tag of $279 plus tax and background check. Out the door for around $315. I have seen additional barrels advertised for $149 but haven't gotten a firm price on one through my local gun shop yet. For a budget minded (read cheap bastard) like myself this is a dream come true.

Rossi introduced the Wizard last year. I have been contemplating buying one. I've heard some good, some bad, like most new guns. If they would actually ever get more barrels out that were supposed to be available, I would probably buy one. But 243, 270, 30-06, and 223 do little to push me into buying one. If they would get the 357, 44, 7.62x39 etc, to where they were actually available, I would buy.

If you look at their website, they now have the wizard available in a pistol form. But only list 243 and 22-250, with other calibers available later. They also list one in a switch barrel 22 LR and 45/410. That I would buy.

BCall have you got a link to these things. I can find part numbers to order the barrels in all the calibers you say you would like to see but I see nothing about the pistol or the switch barrel.

2011 catalog, pages 11 and 12. Just introduced on the 18th at the Shot show.

I see the part numbers for the barrels mentioned, if you can provide a link to a site where they are actually in stock I would appreciate it.

I'll check with my gun shop saturday when I go in to actually give her the money for the gun and have her check her sources and I'll get back to you. I had to have her find the .308 chambered rifle but when she did she found two places that had them one had 12 on the shelf.

My son put the money together before I could and ordered one in .308. It'll be in Wednesday but I don't think we'll get to pick it up before Friday. I'm sure he'll have me at the range Saturday morning.

I'd be interested in the accuracy of these.

just read an article where the accuracy was poor.

I'd like to hear from someone that doesn't have sponsors to appease
