Stainless finish question

I bought a White M97 .504 a while back. There is a rub mark, some would say scratch, on the action. The guy I bought it from said it happened taking guns in and out of his safe. The stainless is not polished, it appears to be blasted in one way or another. I showed it to a friend who said that it looks like some type of hydro blasting.
Any help would be appreciated.

It's called bead blasting. Tiny glass beads blown against the steel in a sandblasting cabinet. Not a big deal to touch it up if you know someone who's got a blaster. It's a common enough finish; all the kids are doing it these days.
