I was looking for WW yesterday at some local scrap yards and came across a 55 gallon drum a little over 1/2 full of WW. The owner stated he'd take .15 cents a pound for it. We fork lifted to the scales and it was 765 lbs came to $ 114.75 he let me have it for $ 110.00
I think I did ok seeing most tire stores around here that will sell to the puplic get $50.00 a 5 gallon bucket.

Id pay more for one big score like that. Better than using gas running all over. So can I put my 50 pound order in now?

Getting hard to find lead here tooo.
Used to get it for free.
Tire shops were just throwing them away.
Useless government here has declared lead a hazzard.
Shops now have to show proof of proper disposal.
On top of that, fishing guys are scooping up as much as they can find to make sinkers.
Wonder if a day will come when there will be no more lead to be found????

That's a really good deal. Last year I bought 1400 lbs @ 20 cents per. About a third of it was the soft kind, tub seals, roof flashings, etc.

The thing about this is how does the government monitor how much lead they are taking in? They really can't. The reality is these guys could slip some lead to a customer and no one would ever know unless some enviro freak worked for the company..........
