A friend is driving from Cincinnati to Tennessee on his way to do some duck hunting and stops at Dixie Gun Works. he calls on the cell phone and told me they have "NRA Quigley BPC rifle chambered in 45-120 for $1,850." I asked if the forearm has a bit of a belly to it and he said yes. I'm guessing Pedrosoli made it but what is a "NRA Quigley"? Dixie's website doesn't list it (unless I missed it).

Go to the Dixie Gun Works web site and search for "Quigley". Three NRA Quigley model 1874 Sharps will come up. All are Pedersoli and all are chambered in 45-120.

Doesn't it have to be a 45/120 to be a "Quigley" ?

Dixie calls all of the 'Quigley' models "NRA Quigleys".
I don't know why they add that 'NRA' tag on the name.

Actually, their website shows three chamberings (45/70, 45/90, and 45/120) as available right now.
Pedersoli does make their Quigley in 45/110, but I have never seen one advertised for sale.

At one time Shiloh (where the Quigley rifle was born) only offered that model in 45/110 and 45/70. But now you can also choose from three non-45 caliber chamberings...one of which is a smokeless cartridge.

The Sharps designated as Quigleys, are 34" barrels, weight 13# and are reamed in any of the 45 calibers. Selleck was shooting the 45 2 7/8, aka 45-110

My Pederisolli Quigley is in 45/90 - It will shoot - but the dang thing is HEAVY. I might get 1 or 2 shots off off hand but that would be it!!!!!

i have the ped 45-70 and like has been talked here...its a heavy brute with the 34 inch tube as well. i have been tempted to shorten the barrel and re-bore the chamber for the 110 chamber but havnt so far. i think that so chambered with a 28 inch barrel would be the shis nits. the half oct half round should still be heavy nough to absorb recoil from this thumper. also after having a 120 in a very much liter gun has opened my eyes to the shootability of these longer cases. dont know if id ever go with the 120 again as i believe everything the 120 can do...the 110 can do in spades.

all in all this rifle is great to shoot and own. congrats on a super gun.

Big Ted - I thought of shortening my 45/90 to 30in. I know the 28 in 45/90 has plenty of velocity. I hunt with a IAM Business rifle in 45/90 and it sure does kill elk with my 430gr flatnose at 1500FPS.
