Does anyone here know what the difference is between the Lyman "M" die marked "31 short" and used for the 32-20 (have one) and the one listed by midway specifically for 32 S&W long and 32 H&R magnum. The two "M" dies as listed by Midway have different product numbers. I don't see why I could not use my 31 short one for both the 32-20 and the H&R magnum, I'm loading the same cast bullets in them. Up to now I have mostly shot Hornady 85 gn. jacketed bullets in the H&R magnums and now getting ready to load my own cast with my group buy mold and my RCBS 115 gn. swc mold. Would call Lyman but it's Sunday.
You may have to run the "short" die body and the plug stem up to accomodate the two longer cases.

I use a 31 short for 32-20, 327 Magnum, 32 Magnum and 32 S&W Long. All it takes is adjustment.

The long die body is for rifle length calibers. The 32-20 is the longest of those listed - it should work for all.

I use a .32ACP expander for .303 Brit cased with great success if that is any help.

The short die body will work with cases from 1.3 to 2.25 inches (up to .308 or 30-30 length). The first step on the 31 plug is .310 and the second step is .314 inches.
