I don't know if the case I have is military or not, but I will try it here...

Wonder what case I have:

Length: 2.110”
Rim: 0.562”
Base: 0.488” (Directly in front of the rim)
Shoulder: 0.461”
Neck: 0.337” (At case mouth)

On the rim there is a…*…6…10…51…8 at various locations on the rim…

Any thoughts?

Thanks…BCB

Sounds Like the 7.62x54r based on the dims given. I would have to dig up my headstap refrence to be sure, that sounds like a typical headstamp for the big Ruski. You didnt say if it was brass or steel?

Well, a magnet doesn't stick to it and it is brass colored...

Is that the cartridge that is associated with the Mosin-Nagant rifle?...

I looked at a picture of the cartridge you mentioned and it looks like that critter...

I also compared the data on that cartridge in the Cartridges of the World and it sure seems that is the one...

I just didn't know were to start in that reference book...

Thanks...BCB

Lots & Lots of good CHEAP Fun to be had there!!!
If you dont have a MN you Need to Get one while they are still cheap ($100 & Under) . Ammo has went up but still cheap for a full power center fire..
