Got some of my unblooded Marlin's ready for deer season .

Marlin 1895 (circa 1896) in 40-65 WCF with Lyman #403169 and 24 grains XMP5744.

Marlin 1895(circa1897) in 38-56 WCF with Lyman #375449 and 20 grains XMP5744,

Marlin 1895 (circa 1910) in 33WCF with Lyman #338320 and 22 grains XMP5744,

Marlin 1893 (circa 1906) in 30-30 with Lyman #31141 and 16 grains XMP5744,

Marlin 336SC (circa 1950) in 30-30 with Lyman 31141HP and 16 grains XMP5744,

Marlin 36SC (circa 1946) in 30-30 with Saeco 150 grain GCFP and 16 grains XMP5744 ,

Marlin 336 Zane Grey (circa 1972) in 30-30 with RCBS 30-150 and 16 grains XMP5744.

Marlin 1936A (circa 1938) in 32 Speciel with RCBS 32-170 and 10 grains SR4756.

If I get one with each of those by some immense stroke of luck I should have my 40-82 and 25-36 figured out by then .

And of course there's always the XLR's with Ranch Dogs bullets to fall back on .

Life is generally a pain in the butt . But at the beginning of hunting season it's GRAND :drinks:

I see you a partial to XMP5744 in your loads. What's the velocity range, 1600-1700? -JDL

We try and avoid those NZ types, just joking, but there is greatttttttt rivalry between us, that's for sure. Sorta like interstate rivalry, but on a national level. :-)

Mick

PS, I'll have a look I spend most of my time here, but am also a regular on several boards, what's another hour or so?

4FingerMick:Thanks for the link.. Our "trip "of a lifetime was a month in NZ a few years back...was able to take in some of the l fishing, which is well publicized here, but highly surprised to hear about the wondrous bird hunting available..Now ,granted the guides doing the talking were "Off-season" hunting guides, but if even close to reality ,it sounded like So.Dakota, 1952 Redux, pheasant wise, wild turkeys to spare, and,if I remember names, the Goose hunting near Hanmer Springs shouldn't be passed uip either..Unfortunately ,I'm told access to prime locations is pricey, except for the Turkeys.. also ,of note, almost everyone we met said,"Don't waste your money going to Australia, they all come here on holiday".. Onceabull
