Got cabin fever? If so, my club, Marbletown Sportsmen in Stone Ridge, N.Y. is holding a cabin fever/woods walk shoot on Sunday, February 6, 2011 starting at 9:30AM. See the attached flyer for particulars. I'd be proud to see you there!

The contact information on the flyer isn't as legible as it should be, ergo this clarification:

Rich Rockwell, 1-845-687-8750 or mzldr@aol.com for more information.

Thanks, Shawn! I think the biggest problems will be slogging through the 20" of snow on the ground (may be deeper by 2/6/11) and trying to stay warm. Hitting the 100- and 150 yd. targets, which I just heard about last night, won't be any picnic either.

Ric, It would surely help to wear them. However, I don't think many of us own a pair (with the possible exception of our BP maven, Rich Rockwell) .

We've had some real fun with them. You haven't laughed until you have seen guys do a mountain man run on snow shoes! Wrecks galore!

The Cabin Fever Shoot is this Sunday, unless Mother Nature has rendered our course (Woods Walk) "unwalkable."

Ric was right: We DID need snowshoes and the Woods Walk WAS a lot of fun. The weather couldn't have been better: Sunny, no wind, balmy +40 deg. temperatures. However, we had snow and then rain last night with temps. right at the freezing mark, and they made driving risky. We had 12 brave souls in attendance (7 club members, 5 outsiders), which isn't bad for our first Woods Walk, Everyone had a good time and shot pretty well at targets as close as 12 yds. (3" x 5" index card with an X from edge to edge) to gongs from 50 - 150 yds., and playing cards set on edge (12 yds.). I only managed to come in 6th, but was nevertheless.pleased with my performance. Our club will certainly do this again!
