Good morning
Are the sights for the Contender and G2 14" barrels the same? Are the mounting holes spaced the same distance ?
If so are they then interchangable?
Does this also include interchangability with the 10" round barrels ?
Thanks.. I sold my last Contender 27 years ago and have not shot one since. But that is going to change next time up. [smilie=2:

The hole spacing is identical for both the front and rear sights. However, T/C used different rear and front blade heights depending on the caliber and length of the barrel.

Thanks stubshaft... Blade height I can adapt with a bit of solder and metal. I dought if TC was figuring for a 414 Supermag with 280 grainers.

LOL - I know for a fact that they never envisioned a 44 Mag with a 6" barrel shooting 265's.

What rear sight have you attached to the Contender in your avatar ?
265 gc makes a nice "thumper" in 41 mag. I have shot it also through my 41 Marlin and the 414 DW Supermag. But with the SM extra long case there is lots of room to go to heavier boolits and still have easy pressure mag fps.

It's off of an old 357 Herret - 14" barrel. I think it was one of the early "super 14" ones. I used it in Sillywett for a while.

That is a silhouette sight. I have a set, front & rear, that I took off a 222 Remington Super 14" barrel that I bought new in 1982.

I had a set as well, but my middle aged eyes work better with glass than iron.

Stubshaft,

That is a cool barrel. A snub-nosed .44 would be just the ticket for, well, I don't know, but it does have a high cool factor.
