Does Gator or anybody else ever make gaschecks for the 348? I could use some.

Buffalo Arms lists Hornady checks for 348. I'm getting the stuff together to start loading for a Model 71 I recently bought.

gator makes some 348 GC's.

I have one individual who wants 10,000 of them.

I have several who have PM'd me about wanting some. I'll order about 15 or 20,000 here shortly ( in a few weeks) if you can wait...

how many are you looking for? I'll try to get an idea of demand and order appropriately.

I need about 3K of .348 gas checks.

I'd be in for 2K now. That would keep me going for quite a while.

I have approx. 1200 copper colored gas checks that look like a Hornady, but not in original packaging. I don't need them. Across the outside they measure .346, the edge measures .012 thick and inside, still with the dial caliper, they measure .317. Do these sound interesting to any of you? If so, send me a PM and we can talk about it. TOG

I don't think you would need them in a 348, How fast are you trying to push them

I am using them in a 35 caliber muzzleloader. My mould throws a gascheck design bullet, and they won't work well with the base just hanging out. It needs to be a plain square base or have a check on it. I don't want to recut the mould, so want to use gaschecks. As for a .348, I'll leave that to others but they are certainly powerful enough to benefit from checks. Hey, now that I have the mould I need to find a Winchester '71 to shoot it in!

You may not need a check But I have not seen any molds that are not checked

Just because the mold is made for gas checks doesn't mean you have to use them. Many people don't. I never have used them.

ah, the old debate of 'will a GC boolit shoot without the GC?' :D

I seldom use checks with smokeless powder, but with Black Powder the bullet takes a big hit in the butt and the check shank doesn't deform the same each time. They're more accurate with a plain base or with checks applied if the bullet is designed for it.

It does come around from time to time I've noticed. I only shoot unchecked to about 1300 or so.

Wanting some more speed hence my order for 30 and 8mm, almost out of the 22's I got from you last time.
