Shooters who have the 270 SAA mold. What are some of your fav loads. I'm casting WWAD and have on hand Solo 1000, Hs 7, Universal Clays, H 110, Lil gun. I don't have too many cast ahead. I could water drop some or I could add some pure or almost pure PB ( scrap yard mystery lead). I don't have any tin.
Thanks BB

I've tried & chronied 9.0 grn H-Universal (1012 fps., avg. for 6 shots @ 12'), 20.5 grn 2400 (1261 fps.) 25 grn. Win. 296 (1371 fps.).

All grouped 2"-2.5" @ 25 yards. The worlds greatest pistol shot I ain't.

The 296 load grouped a little tighter than the 2400 load, but recoil was getting grim.
I loaded 20.0 grn 2400 and went hunting (and didn't kill a darn thing). Haven't grouped or chronied it, but suspect it's right on 1200fps., which was all I wanted to begin with.

Cases were Starline, Primers were CCI 300 and CCI 350 (with 296 only), alloy was 50-50 wheelweights & shot with 1-2% tin added. 2400 & 296 loads were heat treated.

I wouldn't worry much about tin. I got some free years ago and use it. I don't know how much difference it really makes, particularly if your alloy is of an unknown pedigree to begin with. I think a lot more people sung it's praises when it was cheaper, now they just turn the heat up and go on.

I have 9.5 gr of H Universal, CCI 300 primer in win case. 1061 fps out of a 5.5" Blackhawk. Accuracy is about 2" at 40 yards

I use a fair amount of h110 with that boolit
shoots real well for me
I do like the SAA design but have replaced that particular mold
with one from Accurate Molds
