1932-1963. I don't have a clue as to value, I think they're pricey though.

Thanks Hickory for the info! I know it's atleast older than 1950. Guess I need to take it to the collectable gun dealer here and have him age it and tell me what it worth. I know this that rifle makes all the other currently comon 22's feel like a piece fo c***. And it the only rifle I can shoot with iron sights anymore accurately. Don't know what it is but it work/shoots mo-better for me.

PS. We are neighbors! I am right up the road in Carlisle!.

Yeah, Carlisle's only about 40 or so minutes from me! [smilie=s:
I beleive there are 3-4 variants of the 61, octaganal barrels on the very early ones. You can get an idea of value from lookingthem up on gunsamerica-auctionarms-gunbroker-etc. They're high quality guns and I' would just cast a guess, worth over $500.00 in average shape...Just guessing, I haven't looked.

I just bought one and learned a little bit about them. You can go to this site and
find out what year it is. http://http://oldguns.net/sn_php/winmods.htm
Another good site for any 22`s is Rimfirecentral.com. The pre-war ones are worth a lot more in general. If it is chambered in 22 short only they are worth
a whole more. If you go to rimfirecentral go to Winchester and they have a very good sticky on the 61 there.
Hope this helps. Let us know what year you have.
