ummmm ur welcome , but while my answer appears to make sense it is just a guess [shrugz] no clue as to the originator and from reading the recipe , like many of them , it's a variation of another , the one problem i see with it really isnt a problem but the JPW measurement ( aka carnuba and mineral spirits ) is only half hazardously repeatable being as it's a semi solid i could really make a huge heap from a new can and a smaller heap from say a 1/4 can , ( it could also be prone to shrinkage as the solvent evaporates ) but 2 heaping tablespoons seems close to me to being 4 fluid oz added to the 4 oz. of paraffin 4 oz. of vaseline and 2 oz of alox left me with WWVA , the beauty of lube is that if the boolit is properly sized and not loaded too far from it's strength many many things work well and some work exceptionally well , and as noted by others if using a correct type filler even no lube works

did you ever get the ummm stuff scraped off your last batch ? i cant help but wonder if one heated say the alox and various other heat resistant stuff first for a longer period of time if it wouldnt blend in better and not settle ( speculation on my part and i can admit it ) the extra heat and time should help cook off any solvent in the JPW and alox which also couldnt hurt ( mite not help but ...)

Will that make the lube "stiffer"?

Don't put in a lubi sizer, you will not be able to get the handle down

Don't put in a lubi sizer, you will not be able to get the handle down

You will need to call an engineer if that lasts more than 4 hours...

I see the recipe is from Cast Boolits member Lead melter. Perhaps a PM to him will yield the answer.
