I am unfamilar with the above mould. Can anyone tell me the weight cast from WW and the design. Lyman shows it as no longer made.

I am not aware that Lyman made a 311431 design but they did make a 311413 that is discontinued. I have the Ideal version of the mold. These are the dimensions. The weight when cast from wheelweights instead of Lyman #2 would be about 173 grains.

Hope this helps.

I agree with Tom; I think you got the last two digits reversed. Cherry number #...431 (#358431) was the 158 gr. hollow base version of the classic #358429 173-gr. Keith SWC for the .38 Spl. and .357 Magnum, last listed in 1978 as a special-order item. #311413 was the persnickety (it seems to shoot well for some, and not at all for others) 170-gr. .30 caliber target GC spitzer designed in the 1930s by Sam Squibb, and made in one form or another by most of the mould makers; I also have it as a Hensley & Gibbs #20, and a Belding & Mull #311169. Lyman last listed it in 1979.

Mine weigh in at 172gr with a gascheck. This bullet shoots pretty good in my Savage 340 30-30
