Got a 98 Mauser DOT 44 all matching numbers , no import marks, supposed to be a WWII bring back and has been sitting in a closet since the late 50's when the vet passed away. Nice and siney bore. I understand the DOT is BRNO, but I'm curious about the stamping on the barrel, it's appears to be a crest with "dot" and a 13 under it and an EF next to it. Not sure what this meams.
Also there is a "W" stamped under the ser # in several places.
Any ideas?

I wanna spectate, I don't have all the references, or the memory if I did. It is a nice looking rifle, looks like the stock was refinished.
I've found this sight to be helpful with some of the Mauser markings.

I'm sorry Nora; did you mean this site or were you referring to another site that you neglected to list?
