Picked it out myself at the CMP South Store in Anniston, AL. It is an H&R made in 1954. Barrel measures muzzle 1 Throat 2. It has the H&R stock with the flatter comb w/sans serif P in a 1/2" circle and a 1/2" eagle on the left side, the following parts match: barrel, bolt, trigger housing, op rod, hammer. The only part that did not match from the CMP was the hammer. I did a test fire with LC 1969 .30 M2 Ball fired from the magazine. All I got to shoot was 8 rounds because I lost my light.
Stared with elevation 8 from the bottom and MZ. The first group struck at 9 o'clock. I adjusted 2 clicks right and the second group struck center. The group at 9 was 1-7/8" and the 2nd group 1-5/8". This is very acceptable accuracy for a Service Grade M1 and Ball ammo.
