A friend and I cleaned out a college rifle team range and came up with quite a bit of what we thought was pure lead. Then we found out that they only shoot Eley match bullets and these are a lead-antimony alloy. Does anyone know, or know where I can find out, the approximate antimony content of this alloy? I have WW, linotype, monotype, pure lead and some solder and would like to be able to blend this Eley alloy with some these various alloys, with some knowledge of what I can come up with alloy-wise. Without knowing the antimony content I am somewhat in the dark. Any help greatly appreciated.

runfiverun: Thanks for the reply. sorry I haven't been back here in a while to pick up your answer.
Looks like a touch of linotype and about 2% tin from solder should make some good alloy.

I have shot a lot of 22Lr range lead and added 3% tin and with my 308Win have shot a five shot group at 300yards that measured 1.600" with a mv 1800+fps.

I have some Tenex in the garage and I'll measure the content tomorrow.

I measured 1.2% Sb on the sample I tested.

This is what mine came out after the first melt from a indoor range where the lead falls down into a sandy area. I try to get as much slag out to pour into 20lb. ingots the first melt. Then it gets remelted and refluxed the best I can get it and add 3% tin and pour it into pie shaped ingots that fit into my LEE Pro-4 pot. Si 2.61, Sb .788, Pd .003, Pb 93.53, Cu .160 and P 1.88.
