Hello gang,

I've gone from Castboolitpreacher to Depreacher. The old user name was WAAAY too long. Anyhoo, I'm looking for a scope mount that will attach to the rear sight base of a SMLE no. 1 mk 3 I hope to soon purchase. I'm left handed, so would be able to operate the bolt faster if I had a LER scope on the barrel instead of the receiver bridge. Looked and looked, but can't find one. Duct tape, maybe??? As always, all help appreciated. Mack

Advanced Technology also handles scope mounts for Lee Enfields.

Seems to me it would be prone to warping when heated with a torch, maybe that's why his got crooked.

Blimey, Mates, THANKS all for your help. After careful consideration (about 5 or 6 seconds) I decided to go with Freightmans choice of the S&K scout mount. No drilling, tapping, or heating. Now to find a suitable No 1 mk. 3, or No. 4 mk. 1. THANKS AGAIN, Mack

Hey Mack, glad to see you back. I put one of the S&K mounts on my K31 since I could not see the little bitty front sight. I like it okay I guess. It makes for a scout style mount. The only problem I have is I need to raise the comb somewhat so I can see thru scope without raising my head up from stock so much. Have not decided the best (easiest) way to raise comb yet.

Hey Mack, for that No.4 Mk.1 try Classic arms. at http://classicarms.us/
They have Enfields advertised at, I think, a fairly good price. Look under the C&R heading.
I've not ordered from these people so.......
